I don't know if Tom Edwards would agree with me and a particular cartoon he created has been floating around the Internet since 1990.

The Caffeine Curve

I've created smaller versions of two pictures which relate to "The Caffeine Curve". All you have to do is click on each and you'll get the full-sized pictures. I do not know the original source of the first picture, but the source of the second picture is a mug that Tom Edwards sells at "WALLYWARE » Top Sellers". Glazed onto the outer shell of the mug, coincidentally, is the same cartoon.

About Tom Edwards

You can read all the sordid details on his biography page (use the link in the first paragraph and go from there), but I'll briefly summarize it.

Tom started working on pottery while in high school in the early 1970s. By 1983, Tom had a successful business revolving around his pottery. From 1993 to 2004, he took on the additional task of creating an infamous weekly editorial cartoon for a newspaper. During that period, in 1986, he married his high school sweetheart — Lori Crane.

Tom is still making pottery much the way he has for twenty-five years and he sells the pots from his online store. If you take a look at all of his pottery items, you'll quickly notice he has a wry sense of humor.

I too have a wry sense of humor. The difference between him and me, however, is that he has a lot artistic talent whereas I don't have an artistic bone in my entire body. Well, at least I don't think about anti-depressants and triple shotgun murders and I drink a WHOLE LOT OF COFFEE every single day.

Why did I write this?

Anyone who has a coffee-related website and has been around for more than a few months isn't doing his or or her due diligence if he or she hasn't heard of it. The cartoon is famous, having been around for at least 19 years. If you're a coffee connoisseur like I try to be, then you aren't worth your weight in… uh.. COFFEE if you haven't seen it yet.

Case closed.
